Eerste speelavond Top Player Competition ’11-’12; Het spektakel is begonnen

Gisterenavond werden de eerste serie wedstrijden uit de eerste ronde van de Oranjebar Top Players Competitie afgewerkt. Nadat de officiële handelingen waren afgerond konden de spelers die uit alle windrichtingen afkomstig zijn beginnen met de wedstrijden. Traditioneel werd op verzoek van de deelnemers het speel format nog even aangepast van bo 3 legs/bo3 sets naar bo5 legs/ bo 3 sets, dit belooft nog wat voor het verdere verloop van het toernooi. Daarnaast had de organisatie nog een extraatje in huis voor de deelnemers in de vorm van een dubbel in/dubbel uit toernooi in een dubbel knock-out format. Volle bak aan de oche dus.

In groep A gaan Jordy Terburg en Evert van Eck aan de leiding, in groep B is Willy van de Wiel de te kloppen man, in groep C gaan 3 man aan de leiding; Braulio Roncero, Tokan Ata en Nico Thissen wonnen hun 1^e wedstrijd en in groep D hebben Hermie van Orsouw en John de Kruijf de beste papieren.

Het extra toernooi waarin gestreden wordt voor 16 plaatsen op de finaledag waarbij de hoofdprijs zal bestaan uit een deelnamebewijs voor de Darts 4 Pink Ribbon finaledag werd uiteindelijk gewonnen door Jordy Terburg die in een dubbele finale afrekende met Michel van der Horst.
