Oranjebar presteert redelijk tijdens Open Tsjechië 2011

Hermie vult zakken, Benito weer in de punten en Jordy Terburg wint koppels tijdens Open Tsjechië 2011;

Afgelopen vrijdag was Hermie de heenreis het beste doorgekomen. Dit bleek tijdens het warming-up toernooi waarin hij de halve finale bereikte, het onverwacht hoge prijzengeld in ontvangst kon nemen en vervolgens de dikke meneer kon uithangen. Ook werd vrijdagavond het jeugdtoernooi afgewerkt tot de halve finales; helaas had de Finse Aaron Knox bij de laatste 8 het geluk aan zijn zijde wat ten koste ging van Santino die hierdoor de halve finale en de kans op de titel misliep.

Zaterdag moest het gaan gebeuren tijdens het heren single toernooi en dankzij afwisselende resultaten die sterk werden beïnvloedt door pech/geluk situaties verloren we in de 2e ronde Willem Mandigers en Hermie van Orsouw. De 3e ronde werd het eindstation voor Santino Broer en Jordy Terburg. In de sheetfinales vergat Remon Hurrebrink het af te maken maar gingen Bobby Biemans en Benito van de Pas gewoon door.
Aangeland bij de laatste 32 kon het toernooi nu echt beginnen en natuurlijk (je zal dat altijd zien) moesten onze twee mannen het tegen elkaar opnemen. In een goede partij liet Benito zien dat hij afgelopen jaar veel ervaring heeft opgedaan in het Internationale circuit en wist mede daardoor met 4 – 2 van Bobby te winnen. In de volgende partij moest Benito tegen Allan Norris laten zien dat hij bij de grote mannen hoort; helaas voor hem ging het net mis (hartelijk dank aan de geluidtechnicus) en moest hij met 4-3 buigen en genoegen nemen met 10 punten voor zijn 2e BDO Box. Gelukkig waren de officiële zaken snel afgehandeld en konden de spelers uitgezonderd Jordy huiswaarts keren.

Zondag werd het koppeltoernooi gegooid en hierin zou alleen Jordy Terburg deelnemen. Er was echter een uitdaging; wie zou zijn maat worden? De hele week had Jordy al advertenties gezet op facebook, twitter en ander media echter zonder resultaat. Gelukkig voor hem bleek Peter Mitchel (UK) ook geen partner te hebben en zo konden beide heren toch aan het toernooi deelnemen. Alleen deelnemen? Last Friday Hermie was the best through the journey. El viernes pasado fue el mejor viaje a través de la Hermie.
